We are moving our normally scheduled Ocotber meeting to take advantage of a rare opportunity to accomodate
a very special guest speaker, David Johnson. Dave is a 25 year
veteran of the US Space program and developer of the first web-based automated stock trading program. Dave will
focus on asset classes and why your portfolio should include both
traditional assets (stocks, bonds, real estate) with a portion of alternative investments (managed futures
& foreign currencies). Some investments, especially managed futures and foreign currencies, are not dependent on a booming
economy to make money, and more importantly are not statistically correlated with the stock market.

Dividend Capture Strategy Statistics
|
In
March we will revisit the "Dividend Capture Strategies" topic which seems to hold
a lot of interest with many of our members. At this meeting we will have a pros & cons debate on the validity of
such a strategy with Robert Williams, Emilio Iannuccillo and John Urban, presenting their viewpoints
and experiences of executing this strategy, which they view as a viable, practical and productive trading technique. To counter
this Investorstein will then express some counter viewpoints and statistics on why it may not
be as attractive and profitable as one may initially think when first considering trading this technique and more importantly
why traders and investors can become enamored with such approaches. This information show detail some of the common
traps and infallibilities of the investing mind and how statistics can not only be beneficial giving us valuable data to profit
on but also can unfortunately be misleading us down dead end roads of long term disappointing performance.
